SAN FRANCISCO – February 7th, 2018 – Conversa, a clinically-intelligent conversation technology platform, announced today the appointments of Murray Brozinsky as Chief Strategy Officer and Brian Kolonick as Director of Sales. These roles are aligned with Conversa’s growth trajectory and will be focused on identifying new areas of expansion with strategic partners, healthcare providers, and other organizations across the healthcare ecosystem that are investing in patient engagement.
Murray Brozinsky is an established thought leader and strategist around data-driven healthcare and digital health. He has helped launch and grow numerous companies and will be utilizing his leadership and expertise in strategy, business development, product, and sales to expand the use of Conversa’s Conversation PlatformTM across health systems, pharmaceutical, payers and healthcare technology companies.
Most recently, Brozinsky helped create and served as Chief Strategy Officer of Talix Inc. a leading healthcare technology company providing risk adjustment and quality solutions to help providers, payers, and ACOs manage financial risk. Prior to Talix, he was Chief Strategy Officer of Healthline Media, the leading digital health company for consumers, which was sold to Summit Partners in January 2016. He created the go-to-market strategy, drove the launch, and led the business and corporate development teams that drove the company’ success.
“This is a very exciting time in the evolution of the provider-patient relationship,” said Brozinsky. “Healthcare is transitioning from a paternalistic, one-size fits all system based on episodic in-person visits to one which is personalized and embraces continuous virtual conversations that incorporates valuable patient generated health data (PGHD) into patient care. Conversa’s conversational AI is enabling this transition by automating patient engagement and collecting PGHD for key initiatives, including population health, care management, care coordination, transitions of care, as well as patient acquisition, retention, and satisfaction. Improving outcomes while bending the cost curve is no longer a human-scale problem. It requires the help of platforms like Conversa.”
With an intimate understanding of healthcare operations and enabling enterprise-wide innovation, Brian Kolonick has joined Conversa to lead the direct sales efforts to healthcare providers who are looking for scalable solutions to improve care coordination and outcomes. For the last ten years, Kolonick has been working in various roles at Cleveland Clinic, one of the nation’s largest non-profit academic medical centers. The last five years he served as General Manager of Cleveland Clinic’s Global Healthcare Innovation Alliance Network, which includes partners such as MedStar Health, The Innovation Institute, Northwell, ProMedica, Marshfield Clinic, St. Joseph, Bon Secours and others.
As automated patient engagement is becoming one of the most significant drivers in the transformation of healthcare, providers and patients need better communication around chronic condition management, post-discharge, medication adherence, patient education, pre/post-surgery and lifestyle health coaching. Leveraging both clinical data from the patient record as well as patient generated health data, Conversa enables a comprehensive and personalized experience that accounts for all aspects of a patient’s profile. By delivering personalized, automated patient conversation experiences, Conversa helps healthcare organizations monitor and manage patient populations at scale more efficiently than ever before.
2017 proved to be a very successful year for Conversa with many accomplishments: a significant investment from a strategic healthcare syndicate led by Northwell Health; a partnership with Healthgrades to power its new CareChats™; a strategic partnership with Allscripts to enhance its population health, care management, and patient engagement capabilities to its 2,500 hospitals and health systems; bringing on board senior leadership and prominent board representation, and being recognized as a Top 10 Healthcare Startup of the year. Additionally, Juniper Research, in its Digital Health and AI report, stated “Conversa is the type of company that, through their presence in the market and the kind of product they offer, have the potential to reshape the whole digital health sector. They are an AI company disrupting healthcare in a big way.”
“Our growth, value, and market momentum continues to attract top level market veterans like Murray and Brian,” said West Shell III, co-founder & CEO of Conversa. “Murray and I have successfully grown a number of companies together, and I am very excited to welcome he and Brian to Conversa at a point of exciting growth and opportunity.
